A worked example
In the example eight people have a gift budget of 480 in total and ten gifts are on the list.
Example data in the file, there to overwrite. Amounts have no currency symbol: use $, £, € or any currency.

Getting started
- Settings: the year.
- People: one row per person with their gift budget.
- Gifts: one row per gift idea; update price paid and status as you go. The Summary updates by itself.
Compatibility and limits
Compatibility
- Plain .xlsx file, no macros, standard functions only.
- Tested by full recalculation in Excel for Microsoft 365.
- Calculations also checked in Google Sheets (upload the file to Google Drive).
- Not tested in Apple Numbers or Excel for Mac.
Good to know
- Reusable every year: change the year in Settings; delivery dates you typed in need updating.
- Entries are typed in; nothing is connected or sent.
Questions
What does the late-delivery alert do?
A gift with status Ordered and an expected delivery date after December 22 shows a warning on its row and is counted on the Summary.
Is this part of the Christmas Planner 2026?
Yes: it is the gift part of it, sold on its own. The full planner also has the holiday budget by category, the menu with shopping list and the to-do calendar.
Will anything be posted to me?
No. It's a digital file you download from Etsy straight after purchase.
